line love

i don’t know why, but i love to see lines in a landscape…
especially the rows in a freshly planted field of of corn
 or strawberries or sunflowers....
i love how the rows make a striped pattern.

i love the dark earth in between the fresh green sprouts.

orchards and vineyards also share these  stripes…
in an extra large kind of way

i love the way the lines hug the earth and echo the shape of the hills.

in the spring, i often walked in our neighbour’s field…
between the rows of wheat…it became a walking meditation.
i loved how every day the lines guided me as they grew taller and taller.

eventually though, the crop grew too tall to walk in or see the rows…

i love too how paths create beautiful lines upon the land...
so inviting!

my wee crooked line of just sprouted sunflowers…

it makes me smile every time i drive by these striped fields.
perhaps it is because i love to draw…
or that i love corduroy…or am drawn to patterns..
perhaps it is because there have been farmers’ hands involved…
i am not sure why…but it is a simple pleasure that brings me joy!

do you love lines too?
warm farm hugs,
laura
